Breakfast Anyone
Melt I stick margarine, 1 cup brown sugar & 2 Tbls dark karo syrup until the sugar melts. Cut French Bread about 1 inch thick. 6 slices will cover your 9 by 13 baking pan. Pour warm sugar mix over the bread in your pan. Mix 5 eggs with 1 1/2 cup milk and 2 tsp vanilla. Pour this over the top of your bread mix. Sprinkle on a little nutmeg.Cover and refridgerate. In the morning, uncover and cook about 45 minutes in your preheated oven. The wonderful smell will gently rise Richard or anyone out of bed. The great taste will bring them back for more.
Enjoy

MaryR, thanks for the keylime pie recipe posted today (7/25) on Richard's blog.I also copied the other from off your personal blog. Keep 'em coming!
Dear FRENDS, Glad to hear from you. Sometimes I think I am too "Home type" for this blogging group. I find so many things to enjoy just around my home and local area. And the majority of my time is with basics. Guess I trive more on sence of accomplishment. I can tell you that my home smelt wonderful when my grandson had gotten up early just so he could put the French Toast that he had helped make in the oven for us all. I can imagine him being our age saying he did that.
Love, Mary R
Yes, I really miss having people around and someone to cook for. I have this collection of international cook books plus of course the elegant basics. Often I make something to bring to work, just for a surprise. It's not as good as a candle lite dinner at home, but always gets eaten.
Love,
Mary R
Mary, when my grandson comes and my son I'm going to make this. I love to cook and my son LOVES french toast and I do too but since I live alone I don't plan ahead meals much in advance. This sounds simply delicious!!
